Eleven subscriptions rising 8% a year: $299 more in three years
Each increase is a dollar or two. None gets noticed — that is how you recognise them. Their sum over three years gets noticed very well.

You have eleven subscriptions. They cost you $95.96 a month, or $1,151.52 a year. You chose them one by one, and you know the price of each.
You know the price they had on the day you signed up.

Assumption: 8% increase a year, applied across the board. Spread over eleven services, that is under 70 cents a month per subscription in the first year. It is exactly the amount nobody ever queries.
What makes these increases different from any other expense is that they ask nothing of you. You do not have to accept, to sign, not even to open an email. The charge changes its amount and carries on.
And the maths runs the other way: the $299 of the third year is exactly what cancelling three services out of eleven would save. The question is not "has it gone up", it is "am I still using it" — which our short piece on dormant subscriptions covers.
